Why We Use Video Teaching
Sustainability is important to us at The Journey – we believe everyone should experience built-in times of rest, time with family, etc. It has been said that preaching a 35-minute message is equivalent to running hard on a treadmill for 35 minutes, then stopping for 30 minutes, and doing it again...and again..and again. It can be physically, emotionally, and spiritually taxing.
However, through the use of video teaching, we can add additional gatherings, create more space for people to gather here on the weekend, and fulfill our mission without burning out our leaders. We believe that God is passionate about spreading the life-giving message of Jesus in any way possible, and video teaching is a great way to do that. Whether you come on a Saturday night or a Sunday morning, the medium may be different, but the message will be the same.
So, why should I come to The Journey when I could just watch the message at home? That’s a great question! Here’s our take:
Worship: Worship is an essential part of a gathering experience, and we offer live worship in all of our weekend gatherings.
Journey Kidz: This is the best opportunity for your child to learn to know God, love God, and live like he says in a fun, safe environment.
Stick Around: The few minutes following a gathering are an important way to connect with other people at The Journey, and that can only happen in-person.
Joining the J-Team: Serving is an important part of spiritual growth, and our weekends offer the most opportunities to grow through serving others.
At The Journey, we’ll do everything we can to help more people find Jesus and follow him fully, and we’re thankful for technology that allows us to do that!
